Last Night 15/03/2014

We had a very special show for the Paddy's Weekend, with two thirds of the Standard Crew, DJ Bob and Major Grave going back to back with an hour and a half of their own productions, straight out of Dublin for your listening pleasure.

If you missed the broadcast on saturday night, not to worry - as ever, the download is available below. The first half is all productions from Bob, and the second half all productions from Major Grave. Kicking off nice and mellow, and getting Grimy as it goes on, it's 100% exclusive, and a little treat for those of you at home and overseas who've locked in or caught the downloads these last years.

Catch the crew again next saturday night for more Standard Radio runnings.

Be nice

DJ Q - Trust Again (Major Grave Remix)

Big up our own Major Grave on his remix of DJ Q's 'Trust Again' (featuring Louise Williams on vocals - the original can be heard here) - in my humble and unbiased opinion, his is the stand-out remix on this, the latest release (vinyl only!) on Local Action.

You can hear his remix here, along with an interview with the man himself DJ Q - keep an ear out also for Ineffable, the album is available on vinyl too so great news for DJ's and quality music lovers everywhere.

Here's last weekend's show, first of the month and (we hope) coinciding with a switch up in the weather - DJ Bob brings you some favourite skunk scented 12"'s on this one, to ease you gently into the mercifully longer days, and shorter nights. Fire one up.

Thanks again to the listeners.

DJ Zinc - Trust Me I Was There - Chapter 8 - 1990 Part 3

Finishing off the 1990 segment of this essential mix series, Zinc brings us forward as things got just a little more hardcore, and the Akai S series became as essential as the Roland rhythm machines, and the UK began to assert its own musical roots on the sounds of '80's Chicago and Detroit, beckoning in what was to come as things got that little bit 'ravier'....

"...this is part 8 of a series of mixes called 'Trust Me I Was There' - this one is part 3 of 3 from 1990...

..this mix includes the first release on Reinforced, a couple of tracks that DJ Hype was involved in, some classic Warp (LFO!!!!) the massive 'Mr Kirks Nightmare' and one of my all time favs - Radio Babylon..."

Apologies for the delay in bringing February's Standard Radio shows to you; a combination of globe trotting, jetlag and a hacked blog conspired to keep the latest fruits of the labour of love under wraps. Not to worry - here's the second show of the month from DJ Bob, with the rest on their way. Thanks again to the regular listeners.
