Big up our own Gon who has provided the ninth podcast in a series for PlayGround, along with a short but sweet interview. We hope London is as good to him as Dublin has been..or better. Don't sleep on his split vinyl release with Jamie Grind on the excellent Infrasonics label....

Great to see De-Twist's debut release is finally available (digital only) - a strong three tracker, two rollers and one downtempo head nodder. You can purchase the EP HERE.
I've been waiting on this one a while now; it finally dropped today (well part one anyway). Our favourite DJ DJ Mek pulls out the dusty plates that inspired us so much back in the day; as kids Hip Hop still felt remote and exotic musically, it was only after we heard the UK's take on (particularly) MC'ing that we realised the floodgates were open for all. Inspiring stuff.
'Excuse the scratchy vinyl - these tunes have been thru the wars. :) '

Last night's show was made up purely of UK Funky House vinyl, mostly from my record bag, with some from Bob's; altogether it was a more subdued afair than last week. We avoided the stuff on the fringes/refugees from other styles and stuck to the more strictly representative tunes....in our opinion anyway.
The station is closed next weekend for the bank holiday, so I'll attempt some kind of a pre-record (which I'm not too fond of doing)to replace our presence. Otherwise, back in two weeks.

Myself and Bob each brought a random bag of 12"s and promos to the show last night, the only stipulation being to keep it Grimey. We went pretty much back to back with old and newer vinyl - and the 90 minutes went by in a flash of hyperactivity. Have a listen below, or download it HERE.
We're back at the same time next saturday - thanks to the generosity of Adnans, we'll be leaving the heavy bags at home and doing our first show using his serato set up, so we'll get the chance to play lots of stuff we normally can't.... Tracklist

Belfast is looking very good this weekend, with two great nights to look forward to in association with the city's Trans Festival. First off, SubFM's Submerse will be the special guest for Ecker on friday night; sadly, the club's last night in The Menagerie. We wish the crew all the best in their new venue, which is yet to be announced.
Saturday night sees Oneman take control at Pressure in The Black Box. Not to be missed. If you're in Dublin, grab the bus and get up across the border...
Better start praying the rain holds off for day one of Kings Of Concrete - there's a special treat in store today as DJ Mek and Laz-E provide the vintage breaks and beats for the b-boys. Bring a jacket I reckon.
