Standard Radio Saturday

Standard Radio is back on the FM airwaves and across the ether tonight as DJ Bob raids the crates once more for 90 minutes of the best of the old and new.

If you're one of our regulars and enjoy the show, we would like to draw your attention to this; as you may or may not be aware, the Radio Station we play on every week (the ONLY station in Dublin playing this music, let's be honest) 'is a community-of-interest radio station set up to provide a community-oriented Irish language radio service to the Irish-speaking community of Dublin and surrounding areas on a non-profit basis.'

As such, the radio station's very existence is threatened by Foras na Gaeilge's 'new funding model'.

Of course, it's not just us that will be affected, and it's not just what's on the radio in Dublin that's the issue here. So, if you have a minute to spare we ask all of our listeners (and anyone passing by the blog) whether you speak Irish or not, even if you are not Irish, to please sign this petition.

Back to the fun and games - lock in tonight from 9 PM till 10.30

Dublin crew - turn your dial to 106.4 FM

Our listeners outside Dublin can also hear the show live on the web.

You can also get in touch with Bob, Major Grave and myself via Facebook throughout the broadcast.

All times are GMT.

Thanks for your attention.
