DubCulture Presents Boxcutter Live

This Saturday sees DubCulture crew (formerly known as Get Low)bringing the leading light of Norn' Irons deepest and darkest sounds to Galway City. The man himself Barry Lynn, aka Boxcutter, will be performing a live set in An Pucán with myself and Crysis on turntable support duties. For a taster, here's a live set Barry put together for Lyric FM earlier in the year.

Anyone who's had kids (or was a kid) is aware of this, but the boffins have done their homework anyway, just in case you don't trust your own judgement. Read the article here.

Scary Eire Interview

Scary Eire interviewed in Canada's Abort magazine.

RíRá: 'Traditional music is part of what we are. It's obviously gonna surface if you're into music of any form, or at least it should unless you've grown up in the Bono bubble.'

Tonight On Raidio Na Life 106.4 FM

The sun is up, the sky is blue; possibly the nicest day in memory, and I'm suffering the mother of all headcolds. Either way, I'll be coughing and spluttering my way through the currently absent T-Woc's radio show from midnight (GMT) till about 1.30 tonight. If you're in the Dublin area, tune in to 106.4 FM, otherwise you can listen to the live stream worldwide at www.rnl106.com. If you're having linguistic difficulties on the page, just click where it says 'english'. If you miss it, I'll upload the show tomorrow, minus ads and babbling.

REACH Returns

"Right good people - no more mucking about! Summer's over, so it's time to big up all the crews from all four corners of the country who travelled around to festivals and had a bit of a skank with us at Mantua, Sibín, Solas, the Life Festival, the Electric Picnic and anywhere else we were out and about doing our thing and repping bass culture. As we head back to the capital for the long trudge into winter we've got plenty of proper roadblock sessions lined up in our old home Traffic, which (as you probably knew already) is now called the TWISTED PEPPER after coming under new management and getting a SERIOUS refit...."

Technical Bollocks

Well, my internet died a death a few weeks back, so the blog has been on hiatus. Not that fuck all has been going on; in the last few weeks we've seen everything from Pay Talks, the end of the Progressive Democrats(arf), the implosion of the most ridiculously founded economic joke in Europe(bar Spain, who followed our lead), and on a more personal note, the return of music to this shithole after a summer of relative silence. So far we've had the pleasure of Skream, Plastician and one of the soundest people I've met in a long long while, Rob Smith(RSD, Smith + Mighty).

So, things are kicking off again, with Joker + Gemmy marked down for a session in Galway being the one to keep me going as the winter encroaches on us( would anyone notice? ). Soon as me internet comes back, all will be revealed.

Otherwise, this last month I've also met some of the biggest arseholes I've EVER encountered, strangely enough always in the context of alcohol. They've all been younger and drunker than me, but it's not my ageism - they genuinely drink more now than anyone else in Europe according to a recent study. The drug that has killed more of my friends than the illegals all put together, is less and less attractive the more I seem in contact with the youths( since i decided to start DJing again ). Time for more weed, less gargle.
