Standard Radio Saturday

Times are hard for Irish DJs right now; an ever shrinking forum in which to do what we do, the technology/internet issues, and of course the usual cash-ins and exploitation (which have increased four-fold lately) - it all adds up to either a grim future, or new opportunities. It remains to be seen.

With all that in mind, I'll be drawing for the '90's vinyl tonight, for a good old fashioned wallow in better, more optimistic times - lock into ( 106.4 FM (Dublin) if you're feeling nostalgic/grumpy.

SOUNDSOLID Presents

We're taking a break from the Standard Radio this Saturday; instead we'll be here for the night (fingers crossed we make it).

Thankfully though, we'leaving the show in the capable hands of a special guest from way out west, otherwise known as SectionFive. I've no idea what he has planned, but I predict a good one.

As ever the show goes out 9 - 10.30 PM (GMT)on 106.4 FM in Dublin - if you're outside our FM range you can stream the show live here.

Last Night 16/04/2011

Here's last night's Standard Radio show - liberal use of a j-cloth and warm soapy water kept the needle jumps to a minimum as we rolled out the dark dread rollers and grimy 12"s. An hour from my record bag, followed by 30 from Bob.

We're taking a break from radio next Saturday night, as we'll be heading over to London for SoundSolid - info to follow.
