Last Night 14/06/2014

DJ Bob brought us back a few years last saturday, into the not-too-distant past via a big bag of dubstep and grime records from the vaults of Standard Radio. With a little temporal distance, and the musical mutations of this decade as a reference point, these tunes from the last decade are definitely ageing nicely, like a fine wine. Get your fermentation on below..

RíRá - Sound

New one from the forthcoming album by RíRá. Just a snippet, for the '90's heads.

Sculpting Sound - The Art of Vinyl Mastering

Colz - Abstraction

Rescued from a maxell C90 marked "97/98", here's another cassette rescue from the large cardboard box of chaos. I've lost the tape since. Happy days.
Enjoy, if that's the correct word.

Shriekin’ - Mix For The Astral Plane

A great selection on this mix from from local producer Jack aka Shriekin for LA bloggers The Astral Plane. Packed with current favourites, forthcoming releases, plenty virtual dubplates and the odd past classic.

Coming May 16th on Keysound - a heavy slice of funky grime/grimy funk from LV and Josh Idehen. One to grab.

Trim - Vending Machine

Moony - Heavy

More fire from Moony as the two step/4x4 two tracker 'Heavy/Heavy VIP' is available to buy now from his Bandcamp. Perfect swing in this stepper.

Another one floating my musical boat this month is from the man Bok Bok - twisting the funk and boogie through the MPC mangler to construct some 8 bar uniqueness.

More please.
