In case you missed it last week, Plastician digging through his substantial collection of garage, 2 step and grime 12"s, keeping what has been the month's meme rolling. Nomad on hosting duties, plenty classics.
Bob went in on the old school garage, 2 step and grime last night via ustream. All these oldies being played again is definitely an undercurrent lately, but its only to be expected...we are in the final weeks of a decade after all, in case you'd forgotten. Enjoy.
Another week, another radio show. Myself and Bob on the vinyl selections, old and new as ever. Don't watch the odd loss of sound; the mixer in the studio has seen better days, like the rest of us. We're back in two weeks for more winter behaviour.
We were only talking about this one today, wondering when the fuck is it going to come out? We heard Brackles play it a few times over the summer, but we weren't 100% sure who was behind it...we sensed the Blunted Robot touch on the remix though...turns out it's out next week on Geiom's excellent Berkane Sol imprint.

A rare one-off set on RinseFM last week from Todd Edwards has been keeping me warm as temperatures plummet. Loads of new Todd tracks and remixes amongst the classic releases. Even this gets an all too rare spin, taking me back to my schooldays and my first House 12"s back in 87. Too damn good.
Speaking of Marc Mac (below), the other half of 4Hero, Dego, is responsible for a tune that's been kicking around my head all month. Check 'Late Night Fright' (dubplate), recently aired on Benji B's show. Massive.
Much thanks to SubOne and Olan of All City Records Dublin for stepping up to the plate for last night's Standard Radio Show. Plenty of UKG classics and UKF mutants from Sam, followed by a selection of vinyl favourites from Olan, including some exclusive upcoming releases on All City. Tune in again next week, as myself and Bob will be back to standard business.
London born Irish raised Maverick SabreTraveling Man Mixtape dropped last week. One of the best mixtapes of the year, with influences taking from Grime, Hip-hop, RnB, and Folk. He has very kindly put up this 10 track mixtape for free and you can get yours over here!
Standard radio is back once again tonight; myself and Bob are taking the night off and SubOne (provider of the mix below) will be stepping in to take care of business while we catch up on rest; he'll be joined by Olan of All City Records so a few treats are in store no doubt...

Sean Gallagher aka Fono One is one we've been watching since his productions first made their way down south and caught our attention around the end of 2006. His EP 'Meditate' is dropping soon on Belfast's excellent Rudimentary Records, definitely one for the early xmas stocking. Check 'Arc Tek' above for a taster.
It's bang on two years since I first heard Cooly G's music via her Myspace - in that time its been an upward trajectory via Hyperdub, and now Dub Organiser.. It's been a while coming then, but Ignored Playaz continue their run of great bookings and present her Irish debut this friday night. Support from Marcus himself and our own Bob aka Konspiracy. Expect deep and dubby..
Here's last night's show, just myself on selection this week, playing a sprinkling of newer vinyl amongst the classics and slightly older bits. Any wobbliness/overdriving of the compressor should subside after the first 30...my multitasking obviously needs a little fine tuning. Big thanks to Major Grave and Aido. Back next week.
Join me on Raidió Na Life 106.4 FM (Dublin) this saturday from 9PM to 10.30 (GMT) for another foray through the vinyl collection. I'm on the solo run tonight so send your shouts in and keep me company...

Stomp returns this thursday and it's a bit of a special affair this time, as the Craic Pipe meets Standard, in the form of a rare visit east by Section Five, and a stroll down the road for Bob. Free in as ever...expect all strains of garage.
If you cant make it, hopefully the Ustream will be working this time...
