A Fond Farewell

16hz + Johnny Oakley at Dubculture

Its with a tear in me eyeball that I give a big salute to DeadBeat heads 16Hz and Johnny Oakley, who are jumping the sinking ship next week, packing up the synths and PCs and making the move to Berlin. The lads have been a constant fixture in Dublin nightlife these last few years, playing out sets of their own and fellow local producers tracks - incorporating live analog synthesizers (something which 16hz took to its logical extreme as a member of Push Move Click)and gaining a rep around the country for their heavyweight dubs. And so, we wish them all the best in their new home, and hope to reunite the Dirty Collective in Germany this summer. Here's the lads themselves recorded from DJ Welfare's Welfare Clinic on Raidio Na Life, stardate 03/12/2008. Go n’eirí an t-ádh is an bóthar libh a chairde.
